The latest development of VEHICO expands the product range by the high-performance brake robot CB2100. The CB2100 is characterized by a rugged construction and the versatility of possible applications in everyday test operations. In addition to control variables such as pedal position and pedal force the vehicle brake pressure and deceleration can also be controlled. Numerous interfaces facilitate the integration of sensors and offer you the opportunity to use your existing measuring equipment in connection with our robots. During the design process our primary concers have been a quick system installation with intuitive handling. With our brake robot you are now able to significantly increase the quality of your braking tests. The trend of increasingly intelligent assistance systems and the advancement of active safety systems requires driving robots with which these developments can be tested and evaluated. By eliminating the influence of the driver, an assessment of subsystems or the entire vehicle can be performed safer, faster and even more reproducible.

The concept of the VEHICO brake robot offers the following features
-
Strong
The VEHICO brake robot CB2100 can provide a force of up to 2000N on the brake pedal. With the optional available pedal force or brake pressure control countless scenarios can be performed, where the behavior of the brake system or the vehicle may be assessed at defined braking stimulations.
- Fast
Besides the high forces, a velocity of up to 120cm/s can be achieved. The high velocity capabilities are particularly important to trigger HBA (hydraulic brake assist) systems, because these systems are activated only by the exceeding of a pressure gradient.
- Adaptive
Besides the pure performance a fast adaptation of the actuators is also of crucial importance. This is one of the main attributes of our brake robot CB2100, which can be installed with little time spent in almost every standard car.
- Versatile
The actuator comes in its basic configuration with a position controller, with which any pedal trajectories can be achieved. The measurement of the pedal travel is performed automatically after installation and before starting the first test run. Optionally, the robot can be equipped with a brake pedal force controller, a vehicle deceleration controller and a brake pressure controller.
- Safe
The mounting design on the pedal of the vehicle was designed in a way, that the pedal can be overridden manually at any time. The driver has therefore always the opportunity to intervene and to bring the vehicle to a safe stop in case of imminent danger.
- Intuitive
Due to the wide range of applications, it is impossible to deposit a range of predefined braking trajectories, which can satisfy all demands.
For this reason VEHICO uses successfully for many years an intuitive scripting language, with which all possible profiles can be freely programmed by simple commands and associated parameters.
- Comfortable
Another feature of the VEHICO actuators is that the systems can stay installed during manual driving. Since each actuator can be manually overridden by a driver, driving is also possible with a fully equipped test vehicle.
- Unique
With its impressive performance and its outstanding cost/performance ratio the brake robot CB2100 is virtually unrivaled on the driving robot market.
Other features
- connect any sensors on freely configurable CAN interface with dbc file import
- different CAN signals may be computed with each other, e.g. to calculate a TTC (time to collision) value out of distance and speed
- no additional power supply required
- decoupling from the automotive electrical system possible
- system computer has its own UPS
- robust, passively cooled microcontroller technology
- no software installation required
- extremely compact and lightweight design
- for vehicles with manual and automatic transmission
- driver's seat is largely unaffected by the installation of the robot
